SBIR/STTR award winners - please join our conference call!
Are you an SBIR or STTR award winner? If so, we especially seek your participation in the National Conference Call on the SBIR reauthorization activities currently underway in the Senate that will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 1PM Eastern Time.
The call in number is 616-712-8000, and the Conference Code is 727524#.
The purpose of the call will be to discuss the particulars of the Senate bill that's being marked up today, and Jere Glover, Executive Director of the SBTC, will be presenting the SBTC's position on it.
There is a chance that, like the House version, this bill could move very fast after it gets out of committee, and we want to make sure that you know what's in the bill, so that you can contact your Senator and tell them to either support or oppose it. Your position as a small business owner who benefited from SBIR funding will lend weight to your opinion.
But, even if you're not an award winner, you may join the call, of course. We need all the support we can get!

Boeing wants to help you win NASA SBIRs
The Boeing Corporation takes a proactive view of incorporating SBIR and STTR funded technology development into Boeing programs by scanning all SBIR solicitations for topics of interest to Boeing. They offer collaboration support to companies who wish to include them in the application process (providing letters of support when appropriate) with the objective of participation in development (Phases I and II) leading to the ultimate commercialization of the developed technology (Phase III) .
Boeing just released their Topic Interest list for the NASA SBIR/STTR solicitation that closes on September 4th. If you'd like a copy, please send me an email request. My website has my email address.

Help get SBIR reauthorized!
"Hi y'all! This is my inaugural blog posting! I'm new at blogging, but not new to the SBIR world, having been involved with it since the mid 80s, shortly after it began.
I'm hoping to get some spirited conversation going here, and hopefully convey some useful information to SBIR applicants and awardees.
The big issue at the moment is the SBIR reauthorization bill currently being worked by the Senate. The House passed a real dog of a bill, and fortunately, the Senate declared it DOA. Something must be done by September 30th, or SBIR will die, so time is short.
For the most up-to-date reauthorization info, check out The SBIR Gateway, where my friend Rick Shindell is doing a great job of keeping up with everything.
If you have an opinion on this important issue (and you should!), Jere Glover (SBIR's strongest advocate in DC) at the SBTC has some good templates for letting your Senators and Representatives know how you feel.
Leave a comment (click on the "comments" link below) and get involved today! More later...
